Rio Ferdinand names all-round midfielder Man United must sign now

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has advised the club to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund without further delay.

According to him, the youngster “is one you don’t want to miss’.

The teenage midfielder joined Dortmund from.Birmingham City for £25million in 2020 is now an England international.

His performance for Dortmund in the Bundesliga and Champions League earned a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England side for Euro 2020.

Manchester United have been linked with the youngster, but he is likely to cost upwards of £100million.

And Red Devils licon, Ferdinand raved about Bellingham and wants him to join his old club.

Rio Ferdinand was asked which midfield position Bellingham could function at his best and former Man United defender, said on his FIVE YouTube channel: “Any. He’s that good.

“Serious. In the England youth teams there are times when he’s played as the holding midfielder. Times he’s played as the 8 and been box-to-box.

“And also times when he’s been told he can join the attacks more. He has the capabilities and capacity to play all of the roles, he’s that good.

“I think for him, I see him as being someone who can do it all. There aren’t many midfielders in the game now that can attack and defend – affect the game at both ends.

“When you are one of the super clubs, there are talents out there that make you think if we have the capacity and financial muscle, then he’s one you don’t want to miss.”

Manchester United board are said to be considering not signing any more players this January having spent over £100m in bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus; Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

The club’s heirachy believes they have all it takes to challenge Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea for the title this season.

The Red Devils are currently sixth on the Premier League log, nine points behind league leaders Chelsea. Their next Premier League game is a trip to Watford on Saturday.
