2021 World Food Day : Kano , Nasarawa wins as agric show end

The Annual national agricultural show and world food day,has come to end with Kano state topping the first position in agro exhibitions ,while Nasarawa the host state followed closely as number two winners.

The event which started on Monday recorded,lots of attendees who are mostly from the government research institutes and private sector that are into innovative agricultural technological manufacturers across the country.

Although some states from the south were sparingly visible on the agricultural show ground owing to the negative impact on COVID-19 outbreak lady year 2019.

However, with the relative stability recorded this year through the concerted efforts by the Federal Government in collaboration with the World Health Organisation(WHO) the 2021 National Agricultural show,organisers by National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria, brought back hope on the quest for food security and food sufficiency as displayed by the various states as Kano, Nasarawa ,Benue and a handful of agencies like research institutes from kaduna, Anambra and Enugu states.

Commending the organisers of the annual national agricultural show,the governor of Kano state ,Governo Abdullahir Ganduje,represented by his deputy who doubles as the commissioner for agriculture,Kano state,Yusuf Nasir,hail president Muhammadu Buhari on the activities of agriculture,since inception of the government in 2015.

He said the efforts has helped in revolutionized sector in Nigeria.He specifically also thank the former governor and now senator ,Dr Abdullahi Adamu for his resolved and belief in the development of agriculture.

” For all these years Kano state have been participating and there was never a year that Kano did not participated .

” My Governor,Abdullahi Ganduje requested me that I should be here because of the importance he attached to agricultural development.

” So we have we have to come together and collaborate as states,so that we can do justice in the agricultural sector.

” Therefore agriculture is the only sector and the only way not only in Nigeria but in the whole world” He said.

Governor Ganduje further urged states governments to collaborate in order to achieve greater agricultural production and not to compete” Ganduje urged.

He also added that Kano state at the moment has one of the biggest pastoral programme in the country that has to do with herders and the ,farmers in the state.

Earlier on his speech, senator Abdullahi Adamu,who is the BOT chairman NAFN thanked the FAO and other relevant stakeholders for making this year National Agricultural show and the world Food Day a historic event.

According to him, from inception in 2007 the National agricultural Foundation of Nigeria has been working in collaboration with the FAO and the Food and Agricultural organisations ,which coincided with the Nigeria Agricultural show, going back to back.

METRO DAILY NIGERIA, report that the national agricultural show and world food day was declared closed with awards,which Kano state top the rank following by Nasarawa State that came second .
