As the 2021 National agricultural show was declared opened by the president of the federal republic of Nigeria,represented by the Federal Minister of Agriculture,Dr Mohammed Mahmood Abubakar,backed by the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule on Wednesday, participating states as Kano,Bauchi and Nasarawa have boasted o their states government support to enhancing Agricultural productions.
The annual national event,this year theme ,the above states exhibited capability and capacity’s in Sustaining Food security for national economic growth.
Nasarawa State being the host mounted a pavilion that had in it most of it rich agricultural produce,while Kano state exhibited farm ,technological innovations and value chains in the field of agriculture from across all it local government areas.
Bauchi also brags of engaging on dry season farming owing to it weather,with poor records of rain fall Ina year.
Jibrin Safiano,the head of department,Jibia local government area of Kano state,said for the 2021 national agricultural show,Jibia local government area is well funded by the state government led administration of governor Ganduje,which encourages agricultural production year in year out.
According to him,Jibia local government area is known for the production of sugarcain,onions and sweet potatoes in large quantities,as well as all other agricultural products.
He added that” Our land is fertile, the topography is in level form capable of taking whatever a farmer would want to plant.
Alhaji Safiano also assured that whoever invest in agriculture in Jibia would have nothing to lose,because he will end up generating revenue and that will also encourage our youth to participate in agricultural production.
“So we really appreciate our state governor and the federal government in this direction” He said.
Semilarly, the head of department,Dala local government area of Kano ,Alhaji Babangida Innuwa,said Dala local government area is known for value chain production,with engagement on mainly Agro processing.
” We have farmers associations that are engaged in agro processing,with value chain weaths, groundnuts, livestock and industry’s that our farmers are fully engaged in” He added.
Also, the commissioner of Agriculture ,Bauchi state,Mr Jidona Tula,said the governor of Bauchi state,Mallam Bala Mohammed laid so much emphasis on boosting agricultural development among farmers.
The. Commissioner,who appraised the 2022 National agricultural show,however added that it was based on the encouragement farmers received from the state government that enables their participation to exhibits their items,such as the modern technology,the fishery unit among other agricultural produces from Bauchi state.
“This year we are taking agriculture seriously,from this dry season upto the next year raining season.And we have put mechanism and plans on ground to enhance the productions of our crops” He said.
