Nasarawa: CP Adesina rolls out command’s stride, parades 61 suspects

The Nasarawa State Police commissioner,CP Adesina Soyemi,has paraded Sixty One suspected criminals involved in various crimes,within one month into his resumption of office as the command police boss.

Briefing newsmen on Friday at the command headquarter in lafia the Nasarawa State capital,he disclosed that he will continue to work on the Solid foundation laid by his immediate predecessor and will improve on where necessary by vigorously launching an unstoppable onslaught against criminals and other elements with similar mindset of taking the battle to the criminals hideouts no matter how remote the place may be.

He furiously pointed out that” it is against this background that I want to update you on the command’s accomplishments within the period under review” He said.

CP Adesina, while parading the suspects amidst recovered items,disclosed in parts that 6 suspected kidnappers were trialed and arrested at oversea and Kwotto areas of Nasarawa town based on actionable intelligence by police personnels,attached to Nasarawa Division.

“The suspects had on 4/8/2021 kidnapped a resident of oversea an released him on 5/8/2021 after collecting a ransom.

“Consequently,one locally fabricated Revolver Gun ,two fabricated single barrel guns,three rounds of 9mmLive ammunition,one cartridge and one Itel GSM phone used for negotiation were recovered from them as exhibits” He added.

The CP further revealed that a fake military officer was arrested and AK49 rifle ,two magazines and a vehicle, suspected to be a stolen one was also recovered from the fake military officer.

Adesina said the fake officer was intercepted along B.A.Dbroad,lafia wearing military camouflage,he (fake officer) confessed after carrying out preliminary investigation that the uniform belongs to his uncle ,a military officer.

Other crimes and suspected criminals paraded includes rail track vandals,cultists,kidnappers,armed robbery suspects and culpable homicides,which brought the total numbers of those arrested and paraded so far to 61 ,arrested at different locations in the state.
