The Director General, Drugs Medical Consumable Supply Agency, Pharm Hisham Imamu Deen, has revealed that Primary Healthcare facilities in Kano who are Enjoying the Basic Healthcare Provision Funds would henceforth source their drugs from his agency.
He made this known during a meeting on Basic Healthcare provision fund ( BHCPF) with State’s established DMAs on Kano Supply Chain Management.
According to him, the move is in line with the BHCPF guidelines which states that facilities on its beneficiary list source their drugs and medical Consumables from the agency.
Hisham stated that drugs sourced from the Agency would be of high quality and genuine thereby reducing the purchase of fake drugs in the State hospitals particularly at the primary level.
Furthermore, Imani Deen said the Ministry is looking at the possibility of upgrading the Drug Manufacturing unit of the Medical Consumable Supply Agency DMCSA to meet up with the demand.
