Real Madrid midfielder, Toni Kroos, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The club made the announcement in a statement via its website on Monday evening.
This is coming less than eight days after Kroos featured in Real Madrid’s LaLiga 2-2 draw against Sevilla.
The statement read, “Real Madrid C. F. announces that our player, Toni Kroos, tested positive in the COVID-19 test he underwent today.
“Kroos has been in isolation since Friday 14 May after having come into direct contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.”
Kroos will now be in isolation in the next couple of days.
The Germany international is expected to miss Real Madrid’s next match against Villarreal on Saturday.
