We Will Douse Tension in Kano Within the Next Hours – Kano CP

Following the tensed atmosphere residents woke up to on Monday morning as a result of the ongoing Tricyclists strike which has degenerate into conflict and protests in some part of the State, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Isma’ila Shaibu Dikko has announced that the Command is on top of the matter and will douse the tension the development has created in the following hour’s.

According to him, Police operatives have been deployed to all Streets and corners of the State and arrests have been made with preliminary investigation indicating that those disturbing the relative peace enjoyed in the State are not even tricycle operators but hoodlums.

He said the unfortunate situation which has has already caused untold hardship for people in Kano would be tackled decisively according to the provisions of the law.

The Commissioner who spoke during his first press conference in the State also said that the Command under his leadership will continue to synergize and cooperate with the both state and non- State actors to form a common formidable front to fight crime and criminality in the State.

Furthermore, that the Police has embarked on massive deployment of it’s men to all the books and crannies of the State for a more visible presence to serve as a preventing measure to deter criminals from committing crime.

Dikko also promised to work with other sister agencies in sharing information that would aid the mandate of security Kano and all its residents and their businesses just as mechanisms have been put in place to fight other crimes such as drug abuse and thuggery in the State.

The Commissioner assures that the Police will work in accordance to the ethics of the force and in line with best International policing practices expressing optimism that the hood people of Kano will witness reduction in crime rate as a result of the preventive measures put in place.
