COVID-19: Yobe Committee tasks parents, teachers, students on safety protocols

Yobe State Committee on Prevention and Control of COVID-19 has tasked students, teachers and parents to strictly observe all approved safety protocols to shield themselves from the deadly virus.

The Committee on Tuesday through its Secretary, Alhaji Lawan Kolo Geidam reminded them of the importance of wearing face masks, hand washing, social distancing and the use of hand sanitizer in tackling the spread of the virus.

“While congratulating the students for reopening of schools, the Committee has directed all school managements to implement protocols to mitigate the spread of coronavirus in schools,” he said.

The COVID-19 committee equally urged citizens of the State to intensify prayers for divine intervention in this trying moment.

According to the NCDC, Yobe State so far has 211 confirmed cases, out of which 6 cases are currently on admission, 197 patients have been discharged while 8 victims died.
