In its effort to eradicate activities of phone snatchers in the state, the Police in Kano on Friday said it personnel of Operation Puff Adder has arrested 62 persons and recovered 68 stolen Phones stolen.
Briefing news men on Friday at the Command’s Headquarters, Bompai, the Commands public relations officer DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said the Command also arrested 242 other for various offences
The arrest made between 9th Sept to 15 Oct include 24 Armed Robbers and 17 Kidnappers.
Other arrest and seizures are confiscated Indian hemp Valued at 2 million eight hundred and twenty thousand Naira.
Kiyawa warned the public to desist from renting their motorcycles as perpetrators of crime are using it for phone snatching and other criminal activities.
DSP Haruna further said the Kano state Police command have also arrested a suspect who stabbed a tricycle operator on the neck and went away with his tricycle.
But fortunate enough, the victim miraculously escaped death and upon recovering, identified the suspect leading the police to arrest him.
The command reiterate readiness to combat crime and criminality in the state and warned that the long hand of the law would spare no one who commits any form of crime and would be persecuted according to the law.
