Kano to Immunize Over 600,000 Children in 2021

The Executive Secretary, Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board Dr. Tijjani Husain has reiterated the board’s readiness to capture more children in the 2021 routine immunization exercise.

Tijjani made this known shortly after the completion of the Routine Immunization Annual Work Plan for 2021 held in Kaduna State which lasted for four days.

According to the ES in a press release by the Board’s public relation officer, Abubakar Nabilusi K/Na’isa, the board plans to capture not less than 610,855 children next year in order to cover up gap created due to the Covid-19 which slowed down activities this year.

Noting that, its necessary to meet together with all its stakeholders from the state hospitals, zones, local governments and state level in order to map out better processes which will enable them build on the tremendous achievements recorded so far this year.

He said, the State Primary healthcare board in a view to achieve its robust plans has introduced and embarked on rigorous awareness and enlightenment campaigns especially at the Local Government Level to educate parents the importance of immunizing their children.

Husain charge all those concerned to seize the opportunity provided by the state governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who has provided free vaccines at all the state hospitals for children under the age of one bearing in mind that an immunized child is a healthy child.
