A ghastly motor accident that occurred around Afiesere quarters in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State at the weekend,has claimed the lives of a female breadseller, while three others were injured.
Eyewitness Felix John said that the accident was involved with Lexus car with registration number AA237SL as the driver, a suspected Yahoo Yahoo boy was escaping from the person he had earlier hit , unfortunately, the victim was unlucky to be alive when the car veered out of the road due to high speed after loosing control to kill the bread vendor, and injured three others on the spot.
The car was said to have rammed into another Lexus car that was packed on the other side of the road damaging it beyond repair while the three occupants in the car sustained sever injuries and the driver’s face was heavily battered.
Among the three occupants, Sources said, was a pregnant woman who sustained serious injuries later taken to the hospital for treatment.but the Police Commissioner in the state, Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah who confirmed the incident, said that the breadseller was unlucky, adding that the police arrested the suspected Yahoo, Yahoo boy
In another development, the police in Ughelli A Division at the weekend arrested four suspected Yahoo, Yahoo boys after they have allegedly clashed with some youths in the area. The police commissioner in the state, Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah confirmed that
the suspects were arrested during the clash with the youths who were protesting against their activities.
Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah said that the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigation adding that the police will continue to arrest suspected Yahoo, Yahoo boys who have refused to take to genuine business
Meanwhile, Operatives of the vigilante group in Irri Community, Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State at the weekend allegedly tortured a middle aged man ( name withheld) to death over 70,000 stolen. The victim a native of Emede community had visited his uncle, a member of the vigilante operatives in Irri when the money disappeared and he was accused of stealing it and was severely tortured
Police Commissioner in the state Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah who confirmed the incident, said that the family of the victim swung into action to pay the 70,000 unfortunately, the victim had died, adding that two of the vigilante operatives were arrested and detained for further investigation, adding that they will be charged to court for murder.
