Frequent of fake vehicle particulars, Delta State Government on Friday said it has intensified efforts on clamp down on issuers of the shady deals the state, disclosing that the four suspects were on Wednesday arrested in Asaba while acting on intelligence gathering.
The state government had in the last few months been inuadated by the flood of fake vehicle particulars and its alleged issuers in the state just as it has collaborated with security agents to ensure the fraudsters are arrested across the state, especially at various licensing offices.
The rising cases of fake vehicle particulars had also unsettled the state government sequel to feedback from road users who had fallen victim to the cartel that specialises in procuring vehicle particulars without adherence to the strict protocol for the registration of vehicles, as set up by the Delta State Internal Revenue Service.
Confirming the moves by the state government, the State Chairman , Revenue Service, Mr Monday Onyeme said there would be no hiding place for those who had chosen to” make themselves enemies” of the state by engaging in fraudulent activities aimed at causing recurring revenue loss to the state government, and vowed that the Board would do everything possible to ensure that all the areas are properly combed with the fraudsters arrested and prosecuted
In another development, the Aniocha North Joint Security Taskforce Chairman, Mr Victor Otobo on Friday disclosed that hersdmen have returned to the bush after they were banished by officials of the Local Government Council.
Otobo alleged that the hersdmen in the last few weeks Kidnapped, raped and destroyed the people’s farms, disclosing that the people of Issele Uku Community, Ubulu Uku, Ubulu Unor are currently living in the fear of the unknown.
Lamenting that the security outfit in Ubulu Uku Community had no equipment to face the die hard fulani hersdmen, Otobo added that the Nigerian Police force had no easy access to the state government to rehabilitate and construct the road to better the lives of people and secure their properties, describing Ubulu Uku people as peaceful, saying” it’s unfortunate that with the advent of these dreaded criminals that have put various Communities in Aniocha North in the den of Killers .
Recall that the Local Government Council Chairman, Mr Chucks Oseme recently inaugurated a Joint Taskforce Officials who chased away the rampaging hoodlums in the bush, especially the Fulani hersdmen who had allegedly murdered several persons in cold blood and also raped housewives in their farmlands
Otobo however called on the security agents and the Police Commissioner in the state, Hafiz Muhammed Inuwah to reduble his efforts with a view to bringing the Kidnappers and rapists to book, and ensure that the people can sleep with their two eyes closed.
But in swift reaction, the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) in the area, SP Chidi Usulor however assured that the police will collaborate with the Joint Taskforce Officials to launch operation wipe out the Fulani hersdmen soon adding that Ubulu Uku security outfit should be doing more to arrest more of the suspects, disclosing that the four suspects arrested would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
Meanwhile, the President General, Ubulu Uku Community, Mr Richard Onyeagasi said that they were scared of going to their farmlands, especially in the return of the Fulani hersdmen to be bush and their farmlands, stressing that if nothing was done, hunger might ravaged the entire community soon
Also, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company ( BEDC) has said that due to another explosion that occurred on Wednesday night, the entire Delta North has been thrown in darkness, the Public Relations Officer, Mrs Esther Okolie has confirmed, regretting that the inconveniences had unsettled the people who had threatened to protest against the situation.
Mrs Esther Okolie however assured that the BEDC was doing its best to ensure that the power supply was restored to the people.
