The Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Sir Monday Onyeme, has commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for providing critical leadership in dealing with the Corona virus pandemic in the state, as well as government’s efforts at cushioning the effect of the stay-at-home order on residents.
While donating food items to communities in Ndokwa West Local Government Area in support of the State government’s COVID-19 palliatives currently being distributed across the state, Sir Onyeme enjoined indigenes of the area to adhere to government’s directives on social distancing and personal hygiene.
He stressed that these were in tandem with the World World Health Organization and National Center for Disease Control recommendations in containing the spread of the virus.
According the revenue board chairman, “The dreaded COVID-19 disease is a serious threat to the health and well being of everyone, hence the need to follow preventive measures recommended by government.”
The Chairman of Ndokwa West Local Government Council, Honourable Chris Osakwe, expressed appreciation to Sir Onyeme for the good gesture and called on other well-to-do indigenes of the state to support the state government in bringing succour to vulnerable people in their various communities.
Food items donated by Sir Onyeme included bags of rice and cartons of noodles, among others.
