The Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has said that there are now 19,895 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in 52 countries across Africa.
Africa CDC stated this in a tweet on its official Twitter handle on Saturday morning.
According to the tweet, COVID-19 has killed 1016 people in Africa, while a total of 4,642 patients have recovered from the deadly disease across the continent.
Egypt is now the highest country in Africa with 2,844 cases and 205 deaths, followed by South Africa with 2,783 cases and 50 deaths, Morocco with 2,564 cases and 135 deaths, while Algeria follows with 2,418 cases and 364 deaths.

“52 @_AfricanUnion Member States reporting 19895 cases, 1016 deaths, and 4642 recoveries,” the health agency tweeted.
Meanwhile, Nigeria recorded 17 confirmed cases of Coronavirus on Friday night. 159 patients have been discharged with 17 deaths as at Thursday night.
