Police detain housewife in Delta over attack on rival woman As Commercial Sex workers Protest Police harrassment

The anti crime team of Policemen attached to the’ A’ Division Police in Asaba have arrested and detained a 41- year old houewife identified as Nneka Ndubisi for allegedly assualting a rival woman at the popular Ogbeogono market in the early hours of Thursday.

It was gathered that the suspect housewife allegedly beat up the woman right inside the market after they both were engaged in verbal crossfire that lasted few minutes before she allegedly descended on her with a hard slap including other dangerous weapons on the spot

Eyewitness Judith Ekakite said that the victim was accused of sleeping with the husband of the suspect at ramdom including allegedly having sex with the man on blow Job, a situation that has hynoptised him into hallucinations at nights while asleep with the wife before the bubble burst on Thursday.

It was further gathered that the suspect had several warned the woman said to have lost the husband two years ago in Aniocha Ugbo Community to steer clear of her husband, warning that fell on deaf ears as she resumed the sex spree with man uncontrollably.

But insiders said that on the fateful Thursday lucky ran out of the woman right inside the market where she was negotiating for fish including other kitchen materials around the entrance to the market when the suspect who also unsuspectingly was in the market to buy food items allegedly pounced on her from behind that attracted passers-by to the scene unfortunately for the woman, she had received several hard slaps acompanied with dangerous weapons before they invited the police who took the woman to station for interrogation.

Policemen at the station when contacted, refused to comment but on condition of anonymity said that the woman was arrested on the Offence bothering on assult occasioning arms adding that investigation was ongoing with a view to bringing out the facts on the matter before charging her to Court

In a swift reaction, the husband of the suspect, Mr Dennis Ndubisi said that the woman would soon be married to him as a second wife, adding that the suspect was brought in know but chose to cause trouble and disgrace to herself,” the woman is a widow and I will soon marry her to my wife and I have discussed with my wife before the incident and I don’t know why she was looking for her trouble since I am satisfied with her in everything”

Meanwhile, Commercial Sex workers on Wednesday night protested the alleged harrassment of the police around Summit Road during nightfall, saying that many of them have been arrested and granted bail with N10,000 .

The protesting Commercial Sex workers dressed in black and black clothes, mached along the Summit Road with songs” Police leave us alone” , We are huzzling to eke out a living and we have no Job, Some of are graduates of different discipline, Policemen leave us alone, Prostitution is as Old as any other Profession, even in the Bible”

One of the Protesters, Uche Helen said that the Police have allegedly been sleeping with them in uncompleted buildings and also Collect money from them after, and appealed to the Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwah to Wade into their Complaints about his men, especially during nighfall

But the Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwah dispelled as untrue adding” the Commercial Sex workers are Constituting menace in Criminal activities, there has been reports about them robbing unsuspecting sex hungry men at gunpoint which we are investigating and we will not allow such in Delta state as Criminal activities.

Investigation revealed that Commercial Sex workers have taken over Summit Road at night as they often clad in skimpy dresses that barely cover their nudity as they Charge between N10,000 to N20,000 for all night show while quickies attract N5,000 to N7,000
