Gov. Ganduje stands tall among other Governors, says Global Peace Movement international

A group, Global Peace Movement international has described Kano state governor, Abdullahi Umar
Ganduje as one of the best governors in the country as far as infrastructural development is concerned.

President General of the group, Dr Mike Uyi also described the governor as a true democrat who listens to the voice of the people in the formulation of policies.

Addressing journalists at REGENCY HYATT Hotel, London, Uyi said haven assessed the performance of governors in the current political dispensation, the group is impressed by governor Ganduje’s unrivalled achievements in the areas of agriculture, health care delivery system, roads construction.

According to him, the governor has also done well in education, stressing that Ganduje’s intention to establish College of Education, (Technical) for Women is considered as genuine policy pronouncement which will go a long way in boosting Girl child education in the state.

He said, “The Ganduje’s administration also gave priority to the educational sector as evident in projects carried out at various institutions in the state, as well as interventions in renovation of offices and lecture halls. The administration also carried out Renovation of Primary Schools in the state, giving them a face lift.

“In the agricultural sector, Ganduje’s administration ensured availability and prompt distribution of fertilizer to farmers in the state and also at Government approved prices. The administration also showed commitment to the issue of workers welfare and it is on records that Governor Ganduje is among the first states in Nigeria to pay the N30, 000 minimum wage.”

He disclosed that the group will further carry out visits to project sites in the state

Speaking on the recent suspension on ban on opposite sex in tricycle, Uyi said Ganduje proved to be a true democrat by suspending the policy by listening to the voice of the people.

He said though the state could have justified the policy and insisted in going ahead with it, but the governor showed he is a believer in democratic tenets where opposing views are not shutdown.
