Friends And Important Nigerians Pressuring Us To Employ Their Children And In-laws: NCC Chairman

The chairman Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Sen. Olabiyi Durojaye says that there is emense pressure from friends and very important Nigerians for their children and in-laws to work in NCC.

He made the disclosure on Friday evening during the thanksgiving and Christmas carols night organised by the commission’s fellowship.

“If you know the amount of pressure on our head, all my friends, all the important people that I Know, everybody wants his child, daughter, son or in-law to come and work here.

“We have to strengthen things up a bit.

We have to be more stringent with the way you spend things and the way travel around and so on. Before you travel now, you must have a relevance to do it.”
He, however, advised the staff of the commission to be trust worthy and discreet in about their working renumerations.

“I am saying this to you as children; please be trust worthy, honest in what you do. It is God who can reward us and see how God has rewarded me (this position and good health in old age).

“I have always been in where the money was including Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Mint. If you are in a position don’t steal, don’t cheat.

“Be very careful; one thing you don’t know as a worker here, many people are jealous of you . Did you hear what I am saying? many many people are jealous of you. They wished they could get opportunity to work in NCC.”

Mr. Yakubu Gotor, Director Financial Services ,NCC and President of the fellowship, was full of praises for God who made it possible for them to be alive and healthy.

“The reason why we do it as believers and as children of God: the Bible says in Ephesians 5:18 that in everything we should give him thanks.

“It will be foolhardy for us to end the year without recognising that God himself has been faithful to us both as individuals as an institution and as families.

“We are here to celebrate God not just for the members of the Fellowship but on behalf of the staff of NCC as a whole just to recognize that there is an element that goes beyond man and that element is God and that we take a good day.

“We have no rock. We have no foundation. We have no stand and that they are not in that we do that is meaningful if we take God out of the equation and that is why we decided every year like this at the end of the year.

“We gather and our focus is only to recognize what God has done for us and return all the glory to Him in line with what the Bible says,” He said.
