The Commissioner, Kano State Ministry of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa has said that, the state government under Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is committed to the improvement of health status of its teeming populace especially at the grassroots where vast majority resides.
The Commissioner made the disclosure today at a three day on going investment plan development workshop for Kano minimum service package [MSP] for Primary health care held in kaduna state.
According to a press release byntye Chief Public Relations Officer of tge Ministry, Ismaila Garba Gwammaja, Aminu who was represented by the AG. Permanent secretary of the ministry, Alh. Isa Ado Dalhatu says the Ganduje administration accord the health sector the needed attention due to its importance in the life of the people.
Dwelling on the participants, the commissioner charged them to be proactive to ensure a reliable and clean document for minimum standard of primary health care.
Earlier, in his welcome remarks and objectives of the meeting, the executive secretary primary health care management board Dr. Tijjani Hussain said the essence of the workshop was to make the participants understand the national recommendation for PHC [Minimum standards and ward minimum health care package], Review and update the adapted MSP for kano state.
Other objectives are; understand the approach for costing the MSP and also cost the MSP components in line with the national recommendations.
Dr. Tijjani also commended the support of all and sundry in joining hands together toward the actualization of the process, and expressed hope that in the next couple of years, people would be coming to the state to tap from its experience of PHCs.
The Director General of the state for the control of AIDs Dr. Sabitu Shuaibu Shanono commended the state government and all other stakeholders as well as representatives from the National Primary Health Care Management Board and the Technical support unit for their unwavering support and determinations to the process.
