The Kano State Ministry of Health will soon begin awarding assiduous and dedicated health workers in the state.
The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsayawa, dropped the hint while receiving management of the Hospitals Management Board that called on him in his office.
The Commissioner said that the move is necessary in order to boost morale of the health workers and to ginger them up as well to provide an excellent and effective service delivery to the people in the state.
Dr. Tsanyawa noted that Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, since coming on board, has put in a lot of resources to see health of people is optimally improved, hence the need for a concerted effort of health workers so that the achievements so far recorded will be consolidated through monthly awarding of the most hardworking ones in both the primary and secondary facilities.
The Commissioner, however, decried the discourteous manner of some health workers unto patients, assuring that measures to arrest and assuage such hardhearted would have been definitely taken as people are seriously complained about it and government is worried.
“We will join hands with the Hospitals Management Board and Primary Healthcare Management Agency to design series of trainings for health workers through which they will be reoriented on the importance of attending to patients well-mannered, a situation that will surely create a healthier atmosphere towards efficient service delivery,” said the Commissioner.
Dr. Tsanyawa vowed to work closely with the Board so that the health sector in the state will suitably be taken to the next level of development as Governor Ganduje has accorded utmost priority to the health condition of his people.
Earlier in his speech, the Director General Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Nasiru Alhasan Kabo, stated that they were at the Ministry to brief the Commissioner about the situation of the Board and his initiations to help advance the health sector to the desirous level.
Dr. Kabo confirmed to Commissioner that there has been a cordial relationship between him and his Directors and other staff of the Board as well and they are working harmoniously to actualise the dreams and aspirations of Governor Ganduje on the health sector.
He solicited support of the Commissioner in the activities and programmes of the Board and pledged his and all staff of the Board unalloyed support to him to actualize his initiatives and programmes in this burdensome task Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje entrusted him with.
