Investors target sapele, kwale for modular refineries with 20,000 barrels crude oil

Investors showing interest in doing business in Delta state have targeted sapele and kwale Communities in the state for modular refineries to be producing 20,000 barrels crude oil everyday

Prince Emmanuel Amadugba, the state Commissioner for oil and gas who made this known to Journalists in Asaba on Friday, said that two investors had indicated interest to establish modular refineries in sapele and kwale Communities, adding that the process had reached advance stage as the refineries when fully established, would create Job opportunities for unemployed Deltans to work and earn their living
The Commissioner maintained that his Ministry would monitor and supervise the project through the period it would last before they will commence Operations in the state

He said that the ministry achieved 38.5percent budget performance in the 2019 approved budget and expressed optimism that the percentage would increase before the end of the year based on releases adding that the state Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa had approved the upgrade of the ministry’s departments from two to six in number in order to expand its scope and was given a budget of N206million for 2020 before the creation of the additional departments.

Prince Amadugba disclosed that the sum of N5million had been Proposed for oil and gas trade sector conferences and workshops and another N5million for the oil and gas resource center and appealed for an upward adjustment to the sum of N25 million as the state will continue to witness development in the next four years Okowa led administration.
Meanwhile, Federal government has Commended Delta state Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for the immense support given to the Nigerian Correctional Service to alleviate the Prisons’condition and Congestion across the state.

Deputy Comptroller of Warri Prison, Sir Solomon Airohuodion expressed gratitude to the state Chief Judge, Justice Marshall Umukoro through whom the Governor Dr Ifeanyi Okowa had refurbished utility vehicles of the prisons’in the state to facilitate reproduction of inmates in court regularly at adjourned dates

He noted that the magnanimity of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had brought about drastic reduction of the number of inmates in prison custody and appealed for the decongestion of Prisons in the state
