Adjarhor David Obaro, popularly known as World Wrapper man, has completed his 750km-long race against piracy from Lagos to Onitsha in just 17 days.
Starting on the 18th of September, 2019, the World Wrapper Man arrived Onitsha this morning at around 4am, and was welcomed by Prof. Segun of the Onitsha Business School, the organizers of the Onitsha City Marathon.
Running in partnership with the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) as it celebrated its 30-year anniversary, Obaro took off from the NCC office in Costain at midday, and had a brief stopover at the National Stadium where he addressed Nigerians on the dangers of piracy.
He ran with a 36-yard long wrapper folded twice for easy usage, along with 52 other items that included toiletries, drugs, balms and other sundries. His 14-year old son Ikemsinakachukwu James served as his companion and official photographer.
Later today, the 47-year old is expected to run alongside hundreds of international and local athletes in the Onitsha City Marathon – the first IAAF-certified international marathon in Southeast Nigeria.
