The President General of Agbarho Urhobo Improvement Union, AUIU, Chief Monday Igho Odiphri says Agbarho Kingdom is now peaceful since he assumed office.
Chief Odiphri who stated this while giving account of his stewardship at the Mid Year Conference of Agbarho Urhobo Improvement Union at the community’s Town Hall.
The President General said he assumed office at a time crime rate was high in the community.
He noted that, he swung into action immediately by setting up a Security Task Force and reenforced the Vigilante group to complement the efforts of security agents.
Chief Odiphri said, within few months, crime rate in the community has reduced to its barest minimum and thanked the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Agbarho Police Station and his men for their efforts.
He appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and well meaning indigenes of the kingdom to assist the AUIU in procuring two Hilux Vans and security gadgets to enhance the activities of the security task force and vigilante group.
Chief Odiphri congratulated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his victory at the Election Petitions Tribunal describing it as well deserved, as Governor Okowa’s unequaled performance endeared him to all Deltans.
He commended Governor Okowa for the ongoing construction of Ohrerhe-Otokutu and Ekrerhavwe road projects in the kingdom.
Chief Odiphri expressed confidence that the roads when completed will boost socio-economic activities of the kingdom.
He commended the Isueche for their contributions towards ensuing relative peace on the kingdom.
Chief Odiphri said Agbarho is blessed with abundant human and capital development,if properly harnessed will make the kingdom rank among the best in the country.
He urged investors to take advantage of the strategic location of Agbarho Kingdom and its resources to invest in it.
Chief Odiphri promised to create the conducive atmosphere for private investors to do their businesses without hindrances.
The mid year conference was well attended by indigenes of the kingdom both at home and on diaspora including the Chairman of Agbarho Council of Chiefs, Olorogun Osiobe Okotie and several decisions were taken to move the kingdom forward.
