Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Zamfara state has rejected yesterday’s verdict of a High court in Zamfara State.

According to a press statement in Gusau, the vocal senator said he would proceed to the court of appeal to seek for redress.

The senator noted that the national headquarters of the party had made it very clear that it did not recognise the primaries single handedly conducted by Governor Abdulaziz Yari and his camp.

Senator Marafa wondered why the court should go ahead to uphold what he described as kangaroo elections by the Governor and his group even when the national headquarters of the party declared that the delegates it sent to the state had testified that there was no primary election from the wards to the state.

“To the best of my knowledge, the primaries were kangaroo elections and illegal which could not have been adopted by any court of law,” he stated.

Senator Garba kabiru Marafa is one of the G8 group who rejected the imposition of Governor Abdulaziz Yari on the cards carrying members of the party in the state.

The senator warned the camp of the Governor never to jubilate yet as he said it was not yet over until it is over, saying that there would still be another legal battle over the verdict of Zamfara state high court.

Senator Marafa commended the verdict of the Abuja court, kicking against the verdict of Zamfara state high court.

He said the judgement of the Zamfara state High Court was based on sentiment and not on merit, adding that even if the candidates of Governor Abdulaziz Yari would be allowed to contest the 2019 general elections, the case must go on until justice prevails in the state chapter of the party.

He appealed to his supporters not to allow the verdict of the Zamfara State High Court to bother them as he was on top of the issue to ensure that justice would not be denied.
