
Nigeria’s Super Falcons were beaten 3-0 by hosts, China in the Wuhua Four-Nation Tournament taking place at the Meizhou Olympics Sports center on Thursday.
The African champions will now battle Romania Sunday in the losers’ final.
Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby said his team will bounce back against Romania, who lost their own semifinal to South Korea.
“We hope to do better in the next match,” he said.
“The girls are equal to the task ahead.”
China took the lead after nine minutes before they dominated the encounter in the second half with two more goals.
Li Ying grabbed a brace for the Steel Roses.
The competition was meant to serve as part of preparations for this year’s Fifa Women’s World Cup billed for France this summer, where they have been drawn in the same group with Norway, Korea Republic as well as the hosts, France.
South Korea who beat opponents, Romania 3-0 in the other game will face China in the final of the tourney.
