The Senior Special Adviser to the Abia State Governor on Media, Ugochukwu Emezue, has advised the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, to focus on ways to resolve internal crisis bedevilling her, rather than engaging in falsehood and propaganda.
He, however, dismissed the allegation by the Abia chapter of APC, accusing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led government of destroying posters and billboards belonging to its candidates.
Emezue, who gave the advice in an interview with journalists in Umuahia, on Thursday, explained that the state government should not be held accountable over alleged destruction of opposition’s billboards in the state, pointing that APC was a problem to itself.
He said, “I can tell you, is not true. Like I have said, you have two factions that are affecting each other. If you go to the express road, one of the biggest billboards is owned by Chief Ikechi Emenike. You will see Emenike, his running mate and President Buhari. Who has defaced or destroyed it?
“You go down to that Umuahia/Obowo axis; you will see that of Orji Uzor Kalu there. But, the truth is that they are fighting among themselves.
“So, this issue of defacing billboards is an internal problem. I’m telling you the truth. So, all these things they are crying woeful, is because, defeat is starring them at the face.
“Because, when you have a house that is divided against itself, it will fail. As of today, we don’t know who is the governorship candidate of the APC in Abia. We are waiting to see who the President will raise his hand.
“Even if the president raises the hand of Uche Ogah, it does not end the internal crisis in their party. Because one, the case is still in court.
“So, there is confusion in APC. We are watching to see the kind of drama that will occur during their (APC) flag off. From what they are saying, they are not coordinated.”
