The lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo local government areas in the green chamber, Hon Chris Azubogu yesterday commenced his annual medical mission for his constituents.
The strategic venues were selected in each of the local government areas where people trooped out in their good numbers to get medications.
An eye surgeon, Dr Isaac Mbakir, who is in the medical team drawn from ‘Doctors On The Move Africa’ told the beneficiaries in Nnewi that everything from registration card, examination, drugs, eye glasses and operation have been paid for by the lawmaker.
Dr Mbakir noted that a special operation center has been set up in of the communities for the purpose of carrying out surgical operations where qualified surgeons would attend to the medical need of the people.
He said the medical team would be in the state for four days for a comprehensive medical attention to the desiring members of the legislator’s constituency.
Hon Chris Azubogu who was represented by his constituency manager, Hon Kenneth Ndubuisi while speaking with Authority Daily said the hundred percent success medical record achieved in the 2018 edition was a big encouragement.
He said the lawmaker is fully prepared to take care of the bill of as many people who reported for medical assistance in any of the selected centers.
A beneficiary, Chief Nelson Okeke-Sam said the Hon Chris Azubogu annual medical mission is a welcome development which according to him has distinguished the lawmaker from every others in the state.
He described the legislator as a Godsent who should be given higher political responsibilities.
The four-day medical mission is being anchored by Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi and Federal Medical Centre, Asaba.
