The leadership of the Bilabiri Community wishes to address a publication dated January 12, 2026, titled “𝑇𝑒𝑛𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑂𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑦 𝑆𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑠 𝑇𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑖𝑛 𝐵𝑖𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑟𝑖 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦”, authored by Mr. Enitan Abel Johngold Orheruata and based on allegations made by Mr. Lucky Tubotu. We, the undersigned, categorically reject and condemn the publication in its entirety. The claims are false, misleading, and designed to incite confusion and unrest in our peaceful and united community.

𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐮’𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬

We reiterate that Mr. Lucky Tubotu is not a resident of Bilabiri. He was officially banned from the community due to his involvement in criminal activities and cybercrimes. His continued attempts to mislead the public and incite tension are malicious and criminal. We urge the general public, government agencies, and corporate organizations to disregard any statements or publications originating from him.

𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐃𝐂 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

The Community Development Committee (CDC), under the leadership of Chief Tekenane Abaka, remains legitimate and duly recognized. The tenure of the current CDC executives was lawfully extended through formal endorsement and documentation signed by the late Amananawei of Bilabiri. This extension, valid until 2027, was made in the best interest of the community with the full support of the chiefs, elders, and stakeholders. Chief Abaka and his team continue to serve with dedication, transparency, and a strong commitment to the development of Bilabiri.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬

The allegations regarding missing infrastructure and community assets are entirely baseless. The 500kVA and 350kVA generators referenced in the publication were sold as scrap following due consultation and approval by the appropriate community authorities. The proceeds were used to address urgent community needs in a transparent and accountable manner.

𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞

We have credible information linking Mr. Tubotu and his associates to the disappearance of the armoured turbine cable supplying electricity to Bilabiri 1 and 2. The company responsible for employing community youths was influenced through unofficial channels to hire individuals from outside the community. These individuals are suspected of orchestrating the theft in a calculated attempt to blackmail the community and discredit its leadership. As the Acting Amananawei rightly stated, “I see no reason for Mr. Tubotu to blackmail the community unless he has knowledge of the cable’s disappearance.”

𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐢

Contrary to Mr. Tubotu’s claims, Bilabiri is not under siege nor experiencing insecurity. Our community remains peaceful and stable. High Chief Gelu Friday affirms that Mr. Ebimene Abaka is a kind-hearted and generous young man, deeply committed to the Bilabiri project. Any allegations against him are driven by malice and aimed at undermining both his reputation and the unity of our people.

𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

We call on the Bayelsa State Government and relevant security agencies to investigate Mr. Tubotu’s actions under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act of 2015 and other applicable laws. His repeated dissemination of false information to incite fear, spread misinformation, and damage the reputation of our community constitutes a serious offense. We urge the authorities to arrest and prosecute him wherever he may be found.

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐛𝐨

The elders of Bilabiri issue a final and unequivocal warning to Mr. Yerin Johnbo: your continued sponsorship of Mr. Lucky Tubotu’s malicious campaign of lies and cyberbullying is a direct attack on our unity, dignity, and peace. Your actions are enabling the spread of falsehoods that harm individuals and destabilize our community. Cease all support for Mr. Tubotu immediately. Should this toxic alliance persist, we will pursue all available legal and social avenues to hold you accountable. The Bilabiri community stands united against cyberbullying and those who fund it.

Bilabiri Community remains steadfast in its commitment to peace, development, and unity. We will not allow the malicious actions of a disgraced individual to derail our progress. We reaffirm our full support for Chief Tekenane Abaka and the current CDC executives, whose leadership has brought stability and growth. We trust in their continued service until the end of their extended tenure in 2027.

We extend our gratitude to our partners, stakeholders, and the Bayelsa State Government for their continued support. We remain open to dialogue and cooperation with all well-meaning individuals and organizations committed to the progress of Bilabiri.
