A three-man appeal panel of the All Progressive Congress (APC), to hear petitions from aggrieved members following last week’s ward congresses in Abia, on Wednesday commenced sitting.

The panel, set up by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), is headed by Senator Isah Galaudu.

The panel promised that it would give fair hearing to all aggrieved members during its one day sitting at the APC secretariat in Umuahia.

While addressing newsmen, Galaudu said that the panel was supposed to conclude its assignment within a day but had extended till Thursday.

The chairman disclosed that the panel was yet to receive any petition, but would be waiting till Thursday for it.

The chairman assured the faithful that the panel’s job was to address all the contending issues arising from the congress.

He charged the party members in the state to work assiduously to wrestle power from the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019.

“We are here to receive appeal. We are a 3-member appeal panel. The assignment is supposed to be completed by Wednesday (today), but it has been extended by one day’’ he said.

The chairman stated that the panel would sit again after the Saturday’s local government congresses.
