Kaduna APC restates suspension of Shehu Sani

Published

on

Sen. Shehu Sani

Sen. Shehu Sani

The Kaduna State Executive of the APC wishes to make the following categorical statements:

1. The Kaduna State APC will not sacrifice its cohesion, discipline and unity for political expediency. We have waged a long and consistent struggle to uphold respect for the Party, its constitution, and party spirit so that this party can grow and fulfil the hopes that inspired its formation.

2. Therefore, we affirm the indefinite suspension of Shehu Sani for serial indiscipline and violations of the Party Constitution, and further clarify that the Constitution of our Party does not bestow any powers on the national headquarters to quash the decisions of the Ward, Local Government and State Executive of the Party. You cannot join the party at your ward level, proceed totreat the same party with utmost contempt for three years, then delude yourself into a belief that the national headquarters can now declare you a saint, and impose you on the state party!

3. The party shall support only those who uphold its substance and spirit, and it cannot condone the opportunism of people who having used the APC to get tothe Senate, began rebelling against it as soon as they got to Abuja. Article 9.2(i) of the APC Constitution clearly states the obligations of members.“Members of the Party shall be obligated to affirm the party’s aims and objectives and conduct themselves in a manner that shall not bring the party to public odium and disrepute. Members of the party shall also observe the rules and regulations embedded in this Constitution.”

4. Article 21A (i-xi) of the APC Constitution lists offences for which a member is liable to disciplinary action. Shehu Sani has violated several of these, before and since his suspension. We are not a party of anything goes! Shehu Sani is on indefinite suspension from the APC. The process for his suspension was initiated in December 2015 by the Party Executive in Ward 6, Kaduna South Local Government, which suspended him for 11 months. Shehu Sani’s indiscipline, his disrespect for the APC, and the whole notion of party spiritpersisted during the first suspension. Therefore it was extended to indefinite suspension, with the endorsement of the State Executive Committee of the party.

5. Since 2015, Shehu Sani has engaged in unremitting hostility to the APC, joining the gang-up against the party in the Senate. At the national level, the utterances in which he has ridiculed the party and President Buhari are well-chronicled.

6. In Kaduna State, Shehu Sani has since July 2015 opposed everything the APC and the government it installed has tried to do. On Security, Education, Law and Order, and Social Welfare issues, he shamelessly diverged from party position with an enthusiasm and recklessness that even the opposition parties in the state did not demonstrate. We recall the undisguised glee with which he denied Kaduna State the $350m loan the World Bank had adjudged the state eminently qualified to access. This loan was to help improve lives by building more schools, hospitals and vital infrastructure. We cannot sit with such a renegade except he can reverse course and ensure that we get our loan, among other conditions.

7. While on suspension, Shehu Sani joined Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi in an attempt to factionalise the APC in Kaduna, opening a parallel secretariat and claiming to have their own chairman. The Kaduna State APC swiftly defeated this attempt at factionalisation. We were dismayed that rather than promptlyapplying the provisions of the party constitution to punish factionalisation, the national headquarters of the party constituted a “fact-finding” committee.

8. While Suleiman Hunkuyi has left our party after trying and failing to destroy it, his partner in indiscipline, Shehu Sani, is desperately trying to hang in because he has sought, but not found, greener pasture. His posters are all over Kaduna without the name or logo of the APC, or indeed any party. Everyone recalls how he was the loudest of the irresponsible lot that over several weeksthreatened the party with defection, only to relapse into customary cowardice, unable to join his allies in carrying out the threat.

9. The Kaduna State APC issues this as a notice that we will robustly insist on our prerogatives. We will not indulge those that have betrayed our people. And we call on the national headquarters to uphold party spirit, respect its Constitution and avoid the appearance of taking loyal party members for granted, or treating traitors as heroes.

Signed

Salisu Tanko Wusono
Assistant Publicity Secretary, Kaduna State APC

Mega Church Endorses Governor Wike for A Second Term

Gov. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike

Gov. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike

The General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has declared that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has been ordained for a divine second term because of his projects delivery.

This is as Governor Wike stated that Christians must fully participate in the electoral process to determine the right leadership to transform the country.

They spoke at the OPM Worldwide Headquarters at Doctors Jesus City, Mbodo Aluu, Rivers State on Sunday.

Speaking at the Church Service, the General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Chinyere stated that Governor Wike has used his divine mandate to improve infrastructure across the state and deliver good governance to Rivers people.

He stated that his 2014 endorsement of the Rivers State Governor still subsists because it has not been withdrawn.

“The key to Government House which we divinely handed over to Governor Wike in 2014 before his first term is still in his pocket.

“Therefore, he will finish his second. I now hand over to Governor Wike the key to his second term. The governor will conclude his second term. Any plot against the governor’s second term will be scattered in Jesus Name “.

He said that the governor fulfilled his promise to the Church by releasing the land they acquired along the airport. He said that action has led to the expansion of OPM.

Apostle Chinyere stated that OPM will continue to support the State Government through investments in free education, rehabilitation of commercial sex and criminals .

“If all Churches operate free schools , crime will reduce. The government should enact a law that churches that fail to operate free schools should pay tax. We are also going to construct an All Girls Technical College”, he said.

In his remarks, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike stated that the refusal of Christians to use their voting strength has helped to enthrone poor leadership.

He said in 2019, Christians should effectively use their permanent voters cards to vote for credible leaders with the capacity to govern and improve the economy.

“You can only stop the emergence of a bad leader if you use your voters cards in the right direction. Don’t sit down and allow anybody to say they are more than you in number.

“When we are unconcerned and uninterested, bad leadership comes to the country”, he said.

Governor Wike agreed that his second term is secured because God has confirmed it through the voice of a leading cleric, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere.
“If the General Overseer has given me the key to Government House, nobody can receive the key. Even if they bring a crane or submarine, the key is secured.

“They are fighting themselves while I am moving ahead . God has placed a spirit of confusion in them”, he said.
Governor Wike noted that he will continue to partner with the Church to develop Rivers State. He noted that his political strength and presence flows from the support of the church.

The governor called on the Church to pray against violent elections in Rivers State, plans by INEC to manipulate the results and plans to use security agencies to manipulate polls.

2019 presidency:Akpabio reveals first state Buhari will win, says election will end within 3 hours

Published

on

A former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has declared that President Muhammadu Buhari will win the presidential election within three hours of voting.

The former Governor of Akwa Ibom State also claimed that the state would be first Buhari will win on February 16.

The lawmaker, who spoke in an interview with journalists in Uyo, was responding to a question on the possibility of violence in Akwa Ibom during the election following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

According to him, the people of the state have already decided who they will vote, insisting that there is no battle ground in the state.

Akpabio said, “APC had taken over Akwa Ibom even before I joined the party. By the time I decided to join APC, by the time I landed at the airport, the whole airport was APC.

“The whole of the airport to the town was APC. The whole of the plaza in Uyo was APC, the jubilation was infectious.

“Women and men were bringing their brooms from under their bed, which means they had been hiding them because of me and they were sweeping the roads.

“A distance of 20 minutes took us over two hours to cover because of the jubilation. I was now saying that so all these people belong to APC.

“When I asked them, they said, “Sir, after you left office, the situation wasn’t the same again. We have moved to APC”. And I asked them when, and they said since 2015.

“If you ask the APC headquarters, they will tell you that we have over 300,000 card-carrying members who joined the party within six weeks.

“When I hear that Akwa Ibom is going to be a battle-ground, I laugh because there is no battle-ground in a state that has already shown direction.

“I can confidently confirm to you that the first state President Buhari will win within three hours of voting is Akwa Ibom.

“It is not because of me but because of the change that the Federal Government has started. The reason I am being attacked is just because I am a leader here and a lot of people came out boldly to associate with APC when I joined, but the people have rejected PDP before I declared for APC.”

By Augustine Aminu

Ahead of the 2019 general elections, an international based None Governmental Organization, Global Peace Movement International (GPMI), have thrown their weight behind Sen. Godswill Akpabio’s re-election bid.

Dr. Mike Uyi, President General of the organization, in an interview with newsmen in Lagos described Governor Akpabio as an icon of democracy and a good example of what leadership should represent in Nigeria and Africa at large.

He said their support for Senator Akpabio was not unconnected with his landmark achievements in this democratic dispensation.

“Available and verifiable facts singled out Senator Akpabio as a pride of Africa, worthy of emulation”.

Dr. Uyi further stated that Senator Akpabio’s achievements in the areas of human capital development; infrastructure and quality legislation remains a reference point among lawmakers in Nigeria.

“It is on record that this Icon of democracy during his time as the Executive Governor of Akwa-Ibom State introduced free, compulsory and qualitative education policy; free medical care for pregnant women, children and the aged; and the massive infrastructural investment”, Dr. Uyi emphasized.

“We decided to throw our weight behind a man who has what it takes to represent his people and that is why we are supporting Senator Akpabio.”

“He has good track record as a politician who means well for the common man in the village. Not the politicians who are afraid to stay among their people in their immediate environment. Senator Akpabio is a grassroots man who knows the needs of the masses, and shares the little he has with them”.
